White-lies are necessary sometimes — especially when dealing with children. They are so curious about absolutely everything. Those little buggers can be ruthless with questions if you find yourself caught on 'Why Train.' It's exhausting.

'Why do I need to wear a seatbelt'

'Because it's safer'

'But Why?'

'Because it protects you from...'

It is at this point that you start to think, is it worth it to explain all the possible things that can go wrong during a car ride to this little child?

'It protects you from... the hiccups'

Seems like a legitimate enough answer. But then this little kid is going to need a thorough re-explanation later in life, and you're responsible.
